November 2012

“Three times” is definitely a charm.

The Lodge at Torrey Pines recently came away with three prestigious awards that highlight its exceptional standard of excellence as one of San Diego’s premiere resort properties.

The resort was among the top hotels to win a spot in the Orbitz Best of Stay List of top accommodations worldwide. The online travel company culled 200,000 hotel reviews and polled numerous travel experts to create the list that ranks the best hotels in 75 destinations.

In addition to this international distinction, The Lodge at Torrey Pines garnered another prestigious award when it was named by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the top 20 resorts in Southern California, as part of its recent Readers’ Choice Award competition.

The final award was bestowed by Andrew Harper’s legendary Hideaway Report revealing the 2012 Reader Survey, Top 20 Lists. The Lodge at Torrey Pines was chosen as a Favorite Golf Resorts winner in the survey.

“The fact that the Lodge at Torrey Pines consistently garners major international awards is a testimony to its stellar reputation as one of San Diego’s most prestigious resorts, and we are obviously quite proud to be among the world’s best,” said General Manager Dan Fullen.

The Lodge at Torrey Pines is a tribute to the California Craftsman Movement and is modeled after Greene and Greene’s famed Gamble and Blacker houses in Pasadena, California, two of the finest examples of early 1900s Craftsman-style architecture. The Lodge features 170 spacious guest rooms, including 8 suites, more than 13,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, a 9,500 square-foot full-service spa and two restaurants serving contemporary California cuisine. The Lodge is adjacent to the Torrey Pines Golf Course and is within walking distance to the Torrey Pines State Reserve.
