San Diego Magazine Releases 2013 Culinary Award Winners
A.R. Valentien at The Lodge at Torrey Pines, already a favorite among local San Diegans, is also the top choice among discriminating food critics.
The restaurant was named Best Hotel Restaurant in the “Critic’s Pick” category, as part of the 2013 Best Restaurants competition conducted annually by San Diego Magazine. Thousands of votes were tallied to arrive at the winners, which included those of experienced culinary critics such as Troy Johnson, who serves as the publication’s food writer.
A.R. Valentien’s Executive Chef Jeff Jackson, who has trained several noted San Diego chefs, has received numerous accolades for his innovative California cuisine based on seasonal ingredients and farm-to-table concept. In addition to daily lunch and dinner menus, A.R. Valentien also hosts the highly popular Artisan Table. Each Thursday night, diners are seated al fresco on the restaurant’s terrace, which boasts expansive views over the Torrey Pines golf course with the Pacific Ocean in the distance.
