A.R Valentien Awarded Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence;
A.R. Valentien and The Grill Recognized by California Restaurant Association
La Jolla, California (July 2017)— The Lodge at Torrey Pines is pleased to announce the recent achievements of its two onproperty restaurants, A.R. Valentien and The Grill.
In June, the San Diego County Chapter of the California Restaurant Association held its annual event to announce the Gold Medallion Awards. Considered San Diego’s most respected restaurant honors and voted on by industry peers, both restaurants at The Lodge at Torrey Pines were recognized.
The Grill at Torrey Pines won the category for Best Hotel Casual Restaurant– an honor the restaurant has received for eleven years in a row. A.R. Valentien, The Lodge’s signature restaurant, received the award for Best Hotel Fine Dining Restaurant. Both restaurants are led by Executive Chef Jeff Jackson.
The Lodge is also celebrating with a variety of on-property specials including a throwback tasting menu at A.R. Valentien, the signature fine dining restaurant led by Executive Chef Jeff Jackson. The tasting menu features dishes from the original opening menu fifteen years ago, including Veal Cheeks braised slowly with white wine, aromatic vegetables and herbs as well as Tuna Carpaccio with horseradish crème fraîche, fried capers, and fried parsley.
A.R. Valentien is recognized among other winners from all over the globe as a top destination for wine lovers. Wine Spectator began its program to recognize the world’s best wine lists in 1981. A full list of this year’s winners can be found online at Restaurants.WineSpectator.com.
